Witnesses say the white van burst into flames in a matter of seconds, in Shoebury Avenue, whilst the builder was working on a nearby house.

Annie Lovejoy, who was at a nearby gym, said: “It was very scary actually – it just exploded. It made me yelp when it exploded another couple of times!”

No one was hurt in the fire but the builders van was wrecked, along with all the tools inside.
