The A127 was completely blocked London-bound following a three-vehicle collision, close to the junction with the M25.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were all dispatched to the scene to deal with the incident. The road was closed for some time, forcing motorists to try seek alternative routes.

A spokesperson for Essex County Fire & Rescue Service said: “Firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles on the London bound carriageway of the A127.

“Fire crews worked with paramedics to help release two casualties trapped in their cars.

“The casualties were released by 9am and left in the care of the Ambulance Service.”
