Major retailer Dunelm has resurfaced plans to open a new store in Southend High Street.
The retailer is planning once again to move into a unit in the Royals Shopping Centre, which was previously occupied by Primark.
The home furnishings retailer first announced that it intended to come to Southend in 2022, but the plans didn’t move forwards.
However, new plans have now been submitted to Southend City Council for permission to install new Dunelm branded signage around the shopping centre.
The plans also include a new café called ‘Pausa’ which will serve coffee, cakes and comfort food.
Dunelm has over 180 stores across the UK and is undergoing an expansion programme after strong sales performance.
