Tickets are flying for this Christmas Experience in Southend, which includes Santa actually arriving down a chimney into the grotto!
Families are snapping up tickets for one of Southend’s most talked-about festive events. The Christmas Experience at Caddies, on Southend High Street, returns with a mix of theatre, illusions and family activities that sells out each year.
Those booking the grotto receive free entry to the immersive Elf workshop show and a round of festive mini golf, creating a full afternoon of Christmas entertainment under one roof.
Parents who visited last year described it as “a very convincing encounter with Santa”, complete with snowfall, magic tricks and a musical finale. Another parent said: “It was the best Santa meet we have ever done. All 3 of my children were absolutely transfixed.”
Another visitor added: “Absolutely amazing Christmas Experience. The Kids LOVED it – Pure Magic!”
A third described the moment Santa arrives as unforgettable. “An absolutely magical time seeing Father Christmas, amazing to see him come down the Chimney.”

An amazing Santa’s Grotto
It’s the only grotto in Essex where families can watch Father Christmas appear directly from the fireplace, complete with a staged chimney descent designed to make even doubtful children believe.
The Immersive Christmas show
This 45-minute performance places families inside the Elf Workshop for illusions, jokes, a musical number and a snow-filled ending. Cast members interact with the audience throughout, making it feel like a festive pantomime blended with a magic show.
Festive mini golf
Booking a grotto ticket comes includes a free pass for 9-hole golf pass, normally worth £15 per person. The average game lasts around 30 minutes, giving families time to explore the venue’s themed holes.
