Man attacked in Southend High Street with a chair

A shocking video sent to us shows a person being attacked in broad daylight in Southend High Street.

A topless man was punched to the ground by a first attacker, with a second attacker throwing a chair at the victim. The first attacker then returns for a second punch.

It is unclear exactly how the incident began but a witness reports that the man who was attacked had been throwing glass bottles at people.

The police had been called and officers arrived shortly after this video.

It is the latest in a string of violent and anti-social incidents in the same area of Southend High Street.

The incident is reported to have taken place on 24 May.
