Massive family-friendly rave coming to Southend-on-Sea this August with a free funfair!

The UK’s biggest family-friendly rave event, Raver Tots, is making a high-energy return to Southend this summer with its largest ever outdoor festival in the city.

Taking over Garon Park on Sunday 25 August, the all-ages event promises an electric mix of top DJs, live performances, street food, a free funfair and activities for all ages – from toddlers to grandparents.

Headliners this year include iconic garage duo DJ Luck & MC Neat, jungle legend General Levy, and DJ Archie, dubbed the world’s youngest DJ, performing alongside Blind Beats. Also on the bill are Pied Piper & MC Sharky P (best known for the classic track Do You Really Like It), Phantasy, Mollie Collins, DJ Vibes, Leanne Louise, and Danny Blaze.

Organisers of Raver Tots say: “All ages are welcome at our events from 0 years old!”

The site will be packed with entertainment including a full-size funfair, inflatable play zones, stalls, glitter art, face painting, and arts and crafts sessions. There will also be a full bar and a wide selection of street food vendors.

For music lovers, the event features state-of-the-art club lighting and sound in a huge big top-style dance tent. Sound levels are kept within health and safety guidelines and monitored at all times, though attendees are advised to bring ear defenders for children if needed.

“Music is kept at safe levels but is still loud enough to dance, so please bring ear defenders if you wish,” say organisers.

Raver Tots is known for blending top-tier dance acts with a festival atmosphere that caters to families, and the Southend event is no exception. The brand also supports charities that help children with autism, ADHD and other needs – with a portion of proceeds helping fund these causes.

Only advance booking is available, and organisers warn that all previous events have sold out well in advance. Tickets will not be sold on the door.

Accessibility is considered too, with support available for carers via the Access Card system.

For parents unsure about the rave environment, the organisers clarify: “Raver Tots events are risk assessed by a NEBOSH health and safety professional, fully insured with music that is kept at safe levels within the given guidelines.” Each event also includes qualified safety, first aid and safeguarding officers on site.

Buggies are welcome at the outdoor festival site, and baby slings are suggested as an alternative for ease of movement.

With a full-on day of dancing, rides, and activities ahead, organisers are encouraging families to come early, dress for a festival and bring the energy.
