Multiple emergency services rush to incident in Westcliff

Police, armed police, paramedics and firefighters were dispatched to a multi-agency incident in Crowstone Road, Westcliff, today.

Police officers were called to an address in the road shortly after 7am this morning, following reports of a disturbance and concerns for people inside a property.

Police spent a number of hours working to resolve the situation “as quickly and safely as possible”.

The incident happened within a property at the Riverstone block of flats, with armed police also attending the scene.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We have now resolved an incident that was ongoing in Westcliff. Officers attended the address in Crowstone Road shortly after 7am this morning following reports of a disturbance and concerns for people inside.

“They worked to resolve the situation quickly and safely and have now arrested a man. A woman was left in the care of mental health professionals.”
