Police car and bicycle in collision opposite Southend Hospital

Police are investigating after a police car was in a collision with a bicycle today outside Southend Hospital.

Officers were responding to a call when the car they were driving was involved in a collision on Prittlewell Chase near Southend Hospital at around 2pm.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

The collision remains under investigation and Essex Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or may have any CCTV or dashcam footage to contact them.
