Southend food lovers have a new hotspot to rave about, as SMASH – The Burger Joint has officially opened its doors in the city.

Specialising in freshly smashed burgers, generous portions of loaded fries, and indulgent sweet treats, the new eatery is already winning over locals.

What makes a smash burger special?

Originating in the US, smash burgers have taken the food scene by storm, and now Southend gets to experience them firsthand. These thin beef patties are pressed down onto a red-hot griddle to maximise flavour, creating a crispy, caramelised crust that burger fans can’t get enough of.

A growing local favourite

The opening of SMASH in Southend marks a major milestone for the family-run business, which has grown rapidly in just one year. Sharing their excitement, the owners said:

We are beyond excited and incredibly grateful to announce that, in just one year, we are expanding with a brand-new branch in Southend! We couldn’t have done this without the love and support from our amazing customers that have made this possible for us.

“From day one, our mission has been to serve up the best, juiciest burgers with a side of great vibes, and now we get to bring that same experience to an even bigger community.”
