Wendy’s hamburger chain to open new restaurant in Southend

Wendy’s has announced plans to open a new burger restaurant in Southend High Street.

The American hamburger chain has submitted plans to Southend City Council to transform a former home interiors store into the fast food restaurant.

The branch would be one unit away from a McDonald’s restaurant.

Wendy’s has thousands of restaurants around the world, but has now set its sights on expanding into the UK.

It currently has 22 locations, with one already in Colchester in Essex.
