A police investigation is under way after a man died following an incident at a block of flats in Westcliff during the early hours of Friday morning.
Emergency services were called to the Grampian tower block, on Salisbury Avenue, shortly after 6am on Friday 3 July.
A large police cordon remained in place throughout the day, with multiple police vehicles, detectives and paramedics at the scene while enquiries continued.
Detectives were seen examining the area surrounding the tower block after the man was found deceased nearby.
Essex Police said officers were first alerted to a “disturbance” at the block of flats in Balmoral Road shortly after 6am.
A spokesperson for the force said: “A further call reported significant concern for a man outside the block. We arrived alongside emergency services colleagues and found a man had sadly died.
“His death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation.”
At this stage, Essex Police say no arrests have been made.
The force says officers are carrying out a number of enquiries, including speaking to witnesses, conducting door-to-door enquiries and reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area.
Police have confirmed there will continue to be an increased policing presence in the area while the investigation progresses.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward, particularly those who may have CCTV, dash cam or other footage recorded overnight.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: “Anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage in relation to this incident, then please get in contact with us.
“We’re particularly interested in footage from in and around Grampian flats between 12am and 7am this morning.
“Please quote incident 212 of 3 July when getting in touch.”
