Morrisons stores around the UK have been introducing dedicated kids checkouts, where children can have a go at being the checkout assistant. The initiative has been praised by many parents who say their kids will be excited to try it.
Kids can sit in the chair at a real checkout and scan their parents’ shopping through the till. It’s all supervised and guided by a Morrisons store colleague, so that there are no mistakes.
A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “We are in the process of introducing Child Friendly checkouts into our stores. We want customers of all ages to enjoy shopping at Morrisons and know our younger shoppers are often keen to help out at the tills so we welcome them to have a go next time they’re in our stores.”
