Motorcyclist seriously injured in A127 crash near Rayleigh Weir

A collision happened at around 8am this morning between a man riding a motorcycle and two other vehicles.

Paramedics services rushed to the scene and police officers closed the road, leading to long queues of rush hour traffic.

Motorists caught up in the queuing traffic remained stationary for hours, until the road was eventually reopened at around 11am.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “We were called to a collision on the London-bound A127, close to Progress Road, involving two cars and a motorcycle shortly after 8am this morning, Wednesday, February 7.

“A man was taken to hospital with injuries which are serious but, at this stage, are described as not life-threatening or life-changing.

“No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.”
