Adventure Island on Southend seafront has begun work to prepare for a new 38-metre tall drop tower.
The new Sky Tower ride is expected to be fully installed and open in April 2024.
Riders will be lifted to the top of the tower, which will be taller than the City Wheel attraction, where they will be treated to unrivalled views of the Thames Estuary.
The plan for the new drop tower ride follows Adventure Island opening the huge new City Wheel attraction in December 2022.
The company that own the theme park, Stockvale Limited, continue to invest in new rides, attractions and catering outlets.
In 2002, the Executive Chairman of the company, Philip Miller, was awarded an MBE for his charitable work and services to the community.
