Tortoise missing for two weeks found on c2c train tracks

A tortoise was spotted walking along the train tracks at Southend Central c2c station yesterday, after going missing from a garden nearly two weeks ago!

c2c Staff rescued the tortoise and put out an appeal to find its owner: “Is anybody missing a tortoise? This little guy seems to have sh-eloped from his owners and made it to Southend. He’s now safely shell-tering with ticket office staff!”

Tony the tortoise, who is 17 years old, has now been reunited with his owners and is now safely home. His owner was alerted to the appeal to reunite him with his owner, who had been searching for him for two weeks.

Maxy Barrow said: “The tortoise that was found on the tracks at Southend Central was our boy! We’re over the moon that he’s home and we will not be letting him out of our sight again!”

He was missing from their “very tortoise proof garden” and was believed to have been taken by a fox because his house was turned over.
