Tributes flood in after pedestrian killed in Hamlet Court Road collision

Flowers and written tributes have been left at the scene of a collision in Westcliff, after a 52-year-old mum and 23-year-old daughter were both hit by a car.

The collision happened on Thursday 12 December at 5:30pm on Hamlet Court Road, close to the junction with St John’s Road.

Paramedics spent several hours attempting to save the mum, however she sadly passed away. Her daughter survived.

Businesses, councillors, friends snd relatives have sent heartfelt condolences to the family of the victim – who has been named as Anna-Marie Stevens.

The 31-year-old female driver of the car was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “The woman’s family are being supported by specialist officers. Now, we are appealing for any dashcam footage form the area at the time of the collision or any information that will help us with our investigation.”
