Appeal: Police seek to identify man after attack at the Red Door in Rayleigh

Detectives investigating a serious assault at the popular Red Door pub on High Street, Rayleigh, are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.

The attack took place on Saturday, 18 January, when a man in his 20s was assaulted inside the venue, leaving him with a head injury. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the victim received medical attention.

Following initial enquiries, police arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of assault. He has since been released on bail until 10 April while the investigation continues. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any relevant information.

A spokesperson for Essex Police urged the public to come forward, saying: “If you recognise this man or have any information about the assault, please contact us as soon as possible. Even the smallest detail could be vital to our investigation.”
