New easyJet route announced from Southend Airport

London Southend Airport is set to welcome the return of a popular route, as easyJet re-introduces direct flights to Amsterdam.

Services will begin on 24 May 2023. This latest addition strengthens the airport’s growing connectivity and provides passengers with a convenient, fast, and hassle-free way to reach the Netherlands.

Flight Schedule and Availability

Flight EJU7986 will operate four times per week during the months of June, September, and October, ensuring frequent and flexible travel options. During the summer months of July and August, the service will run at least twice weekly, catering to both leisure and business travellers looking for a seamless connection between the UK and Amsterdam.

With this latest addition, easyJet now operates four routes from London Southend Airport in 2023, including flights to Malaga, Majorca, and Faro. The new Amsterdam route further enhances travel choices for passengers in London and the East of England, offering an easy getaway for city breaks, business trips, and onward international connections via Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Tickets on Sale Now

Seats for the route are on sale from today, giving travellers the chance to plan their trips in advance. Whether it’s a weekend escape to explore Amsterdam’s famous canals, museums, and nightlife, a business visit to one of Europe’s key commercial hubs, or an easy connection for long-haul flights, this new service makes it more convenient than ever.

A Boost for London Southend Airport

John Upton, CEO of London Southend Airport, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route, highlighting its significance in the airport’s ongoing development:

“This announcement illustrates our commitment to rebuilding our fantastic airport for the future.

“I am delighted that our local passengers, alongside those living close by in East London and the East of England, will once again have the chance to travel to Amsterdam using our quick, easy, and modern airport. London Southend Airport offers one of the shortest and fastest routes to Amsterdam, making it an incredible city to visit.

“We hope that lots of people will see the benefit of a hassle-free route through London Southend to Amsterdam for a short city break or to connect for a long-haul flight, compared to flying direct through London’s other crowded airports.”

Fast and Efficient Travel

One of the key advantages of flying from London Southend Airport is the convenience it offers. Passengers can enjoy a streamlined airport experience, avoiding the congestion and longer queues often found at larger London airports. With a flight time of just 50 minutes, easyJet’s new service makes Amsterdam more accessible than ever for those in Essex, East London, and beyond.

Amsterdam‘s Growing Popularity

Amsterdam remains one of Europe’s most sought-after destinations, boasting a rich history, vibrant culture, and excellent business opportunities. Visitors can explore iconic attractions such as the Anne Frank House, the Van Gogh Museum, and the famous canal network, while business travellers can take advantage of the city’s status as a global financial and commercial centre.
