A local hero who dedicates her time to helping vulnerable people and their beloved pets has won a well-deserved VIP prize for Southend’s biggest music and craft drinks festival – Lazydays!
Lynne Channell, the founder of Charlie Boy’s Angels, a charity that supports homeless and low-income pet owners in Southend and across Essex, has been selected as the winner of a pair of VIP tickets to this year’s Lazydays festival at Priory Park.
Supporting vulnerable pet owners
Charlie Boy’s Angels provides crucial aid, including food, coats, leads, and access to free veterinary care for dogs whose owners are facing hardship. The charity also helps individuals find pet-friendly accommodation, ensuring that people don’t have to choose between keeping their furry companions and having a roof over their heads.
Lynne’s selfless work has made a significant impact in the community, and her dedication has not gone unnoticed. She was nominated by multiple people for the prize, and after a tough decision, the festival organisers chose her as the worthy winner.
A well-earned festival experience
Overwhelmed by the recognition, Lynne expressed her gratitude: “I haven’t been to a festival in years! I’m so looking forward to this! I would like to thank all of you who nominated me to win the tickets to the Lazydays festival. We are truly grateful, and it’s so lovely to be able to enjoy this wonderful weekend event.”
The organisers of Lazydays festival, which boasts a huge exciting lineup, were thrilled with the result.
“We’re so happy that Lynne has won Your Southend’s competition to celebrate Southend City Day,” said festival organisers Andy, Elliott, and Mike. “It was incredible to see so many people nominate their local heroes and highlight their selfless deeds. We’re really looking forward to welcoming Lynne to Lazydays Festival so she can take a well-earned break from her charitable work! See you in the park!”
